Linda's Piano and Violin Studio offers piano lessons, violin lessons, beginning viola lessons, and music theory instruction. Weekly 30, 45, and 60 minute lessons are available for beginning to advanced students of all ages. The studio also has a program for preschoolers, and preschoolers do not need a piano to start lessons.
• Ages: 3–18 years old
• Schedule: Weekly 30, 45, and 60 minute lessons are offered
• Price: I offer 1/2, 3/4 and 1 hour lessons at reasonable rates.
Miss Linda is the piano, violin, beginning viola, and music theory instructor. She began piano lessons at the age of 4 and participated in competitions, recitals, the Certificate of Merit program, and the Sherwood Music School before obtaining a BA degree in piano from CSU Fullerton. In 2015 she received a pedagogy certificate from Fullerton College. She began violin at 19, joined the symphony orchestra at CSU Fullerton six months later, and currently plays in the Whittier Regional Symphony. She has attended master classes and trainings including Suzuki Every Child Can, Suzuki Levels 1 and 2, the Music Teachers Annual Conference (MTAC), the Peter Marsh violin bowing workshop, and Sassmannshaus teacher training, and she passed Level 9 and received a certificate in violin with the String Teachers Association.
The studio offers a complimentary first lesson for everyone age 99 and older, and preschoolers receive their first four weeks free. Students at the studio learn sight reading and a steady rhythm from the first lesson and use games to help retain what they learn in lessons. The instructor has taught some special needs children, and all ages are welcome.
Miss Linda states that she has certain standards in her studio to make sure students are learning to read music, maintain a steady beat, and learn rhythms. She states that she has patience, is dependable, cares about her students, develops individual lessons appropriate to each child's learning style, and likes to maintain open lines of communication between herself and the student. She is committed to her own development and currently takes lessons on both piano and violin.
Parents and students have shared feedback such as, “Truly talented, amazing and inspiring teacher. The classes were extremely professional but also comfortable. This is a teacher with a warm heart, great attitude and amazing skills.” One former student wrote, “I recall meeting you 11 years ago when you arrived at our doorstep with the passion for teaching in your heart and music in your soul. I cannot wait to see you continuing to inspire many other kids like me.” Another student shared, “You are my #1 piano teacher! Thank you for being there for me all these years and for putting up with me and my little to no practicing and tendency to forget sharps and flats. It is always a ton of fun playing duets with you and spending time with you.”
