Emerald Hills Chess Club and School

Emerald Hills Chess Club and School offers after-school clubs, small group tourney training classes, and summer camps focused on chess. The program also runs monthly rated tournaments and monthly, low-cost tournaments that are open to youth and adults. Tournaments include sections that are open to all ages and levels, including after-school chess club members.

Emerald Hills Chess Club and School is a non-profit that provides professional chess instruction for over 300 kids in the Tri-Valley. It runs popular monthly rated tournaments, including events such as the Tri-Valley April Open, which awarded nearly 60 trophies to a field of 178 players and offered $1,310 in cash prizes. The program also highlights events like the May 9th Tri-Valley Open, which features an Early Bird Discount and more than 50 individual trophies, with 5 sections open to all ages and levels. Emerald Hills Chess Club and School offers Summer 2026 Camps and Tourney Training Classes, as well as 2025–26 Tourney Training Classes and After-School Chess Clubs, along with monthly, low-cost tournaments now offering cash prizes.
