Pleasanton Bilingual Montessori Preschool offers activities in sensory exploration, culture studies, practical life skills, language, and mathematics. The program follows the educational philosophy and principles of Maria Montessori as stated in its mission.

Pleasanton Bilingual Montessori Preschool has offered education since 2013 and provides year-round academics as well as summer programs. It is the first largest bilingual (English and Mandarin) Montessori school in the Tri-Valley area and offers a comprehensive range of program levels for children from 15 months through pre-kindergarten. The school operates two locations in Pleasanton and offers small, individualized classes with low student-to-teacher ratios.
The program’s mission states that it focuses on building a strong educational foundation that nurtures independence, critical thinking, and self-discipline, while embodying Maria Montessori’s principles. The mission also states that the school aims to create an atmosphere where children experience emotional and physical security, where their worth is acknowledged and respected, and where they can reach their potential, develop independent thought, and make contributions to society and the world.
All Pleasanton Bilingual Montessori Preschool teachers are described as well qualified with backgrounds in early childhood education and Montessori training, and the staff meets or exceeds California licensing requirements and background checks. All teachers have taken courses in early childhood development and/or are pursuing an AA or BS in child development or related fields, and staff hold CPR and First Aid certifications that are renewed every two years. Ms. Lena, the director since 2013, holds an early childhood education director permit, is MTEC Montessori certified, and has more than 17 years of experience in roles including Montessori lead teacher, preschool coordinator, assistant director, and director. Ms. Huang, assistant director since 2014, has over 10 years of experience working with children and obtained her early childhood credential from MTEC in California. Ms. Anushiya David, program director since 2016, earned a master’s degree in education, pursued her early childhood credential at MTEC, and has over 15 years of experience working with children.
Pleasanton Bilingual Montessori Preschool states that it maintains strict hygiene standards and a high level of cleanliness, including high-quality wooden floors in all classrooms that are cleaned daily. The school notes that it has well managed 24-hour CCTV access and is fully secured. The program is completely nut-free and strictly prohibits food that contains nuts, nut products, eggs, and seafood.
The school provides nutritious, high quality breakfast, hot lunch, and snacks, including fresh vegetables and fruits, nonfat or low-fat dairy milk, lean chicken, and whole grain cereals and bread. The Hot Lunch Program is cooked at school every weekday, and snacks such as crackers, biscuits, and fruits are provided free of charge. Families who choose to pack lunch at home are asked to send a well-balanced, nutritional meal that excludes candy, highly sugared foods, salt, and preservatives.
