About
My Room to Grow Preschool Summer Preschool Program includes specialized early childhood instruction with play-based learning, imaginative play, outdoor exploration, and engaging weekly themes. Children take part in hands-on learning in areas such as music & movement, mathematics, social skills, language development, science, creative art, problem solving, science & nature exploration, process art & DIY activities, gardening & outdoor learning, music & dance, language & literacy development, and physical activity & movement. The program also features circle time with calendar, weather, phonics, discussion of the weekly theme, curriculum study, colors, shapes, and numbers, along with learning centers, art, and small motor skills, plus on-site field trips, special events, and weekly water play activities and water play days.

• Schedule: Open Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM; the summer preschool camp runs all summer long
The daily schedule includes arrival and drop-off starting at 7:00 AM, opening classroom activities or playground time, a morning snack, circle time with new concepts and a second circle time, lunch, playground time, transition to nap, naptime, wake-up time, an afternoon snack, and play-based learning blocks that alternate with playground time in the late afternoon, followed by closing of the playground and classrooms by 5:30 PM. The program provides fresh, healthy meals and two snacks daily as part of tuition, and summer campers receive healthy meals and snacks throughout the day. Weekly water play activities require a swimsuit, towel, and change of clothes, and after enrollment a Welcome Email lists what to bring.
My Room to Grow Preschool has been shaping young minds for over 30 years, and in 2001, Administrator Mrs Marina transitioned from a career in biochemistry to early childhood education and overseeing all aspects of preschool operations. The leadership team includes Mrs Marina as Administrator and Mrs Meghan as Preschool Director. The preschool operates year-round, and the facility is transformed each week with new themes and fun-filled surprises, with large outdoor learning spaces, a front entrance security system, a secure communication smartphone app with real-time updates, and small class sizes with low teacher-to-student ratios. The staff includes highly qualified, passionate, and experienced teachers who follow an engaging, fun academic curriculum based on the Whole Child Approach.
My Room to Grow Preschool’s mission is to nurture young minds through play, creativity, and essential lifelong skills in a safe and supportive environment, and to foster each child’s curiosity while respecting each child’s individuality and lifestyle. The program offers flexible schedules with two-, three-, or five-day-per-week options and full-day, extended morning, and half-day choices, along with engaging Pre-K and Transitional Kindergarten programs focused on kindergarten readiness and programs for school-age children during school breaks and summer sessions. The preschool accepts YMCA, CDA, and military assistance programs such as NACCRA and MCCYN, and mentions YMCA of San Diego Community Well-Being & Belonging, Child Development Associates (CDA), CalWORKs, Child Care Aware of America, and Military Child Care in Your Neighborhood (MCCYN) as alternative payment or assistance programs.
