About
St. Bart's Musical Theatre Summer Camp is a 2-week theatre intensive that includes scene study, singing, choreography, dialect work, and stage combat. Campers also work with hair and make-up, props, sets, and audio as part of the program. The 2026 camp is themed “The Lion King” and includes a performance of selections from the musical for parents on the last day of camp.
• Ages: 6–17 years old
• Schedule: July 6–17, 2026, 9am–12pm
• Price: Camp fees: $300 per child ($30 discount for additional siblings). Full refund available (minus $30 administrative fee) up to 1 week prior to camp start date.
St. Bart's Musical Theatre Summer Camp is offered by St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church. St. Bartholomew’s was established as an Episcopal mission church in 1960, became a parish church on March 17, 1975, and later added facilities including an education building and chapel. St. Bart's campus is busy seven days a week with worship services, parish events, concerts, and a year-round preschool, and it is described as a vibrant, progressive Christian community rooted in the Episcopal tradition.
The leadership team for the camp includes Dr. John-Luke Addison, Rev. Jacob Robling, Anna Lettang, and Ella Crane. Dr. John-Luke Addison has been involved with musical theatre for more than 15 years in Canada and the US, including work as music director and keyboardist for national tours, professional regional productions, and repertory theatre such as the Shaw Festival, and he serves as Director of Music & Liturgy at St. Bart's. Rev. Jacob Robling is a priest in the Diocese of San Diego, serves at St. Bart’s as Curate and Youth Minister, performed in multiple musicals and plays in high school and college, and continues singing in church and in performances at St. Bart’s. Anna Lettang has served as musical director for many youth productions, including “Seussical” and “The Lion King Jr.,” works as the Middle School Music teacher at the O'Farrell Charter Schools, and conducts the St. Bart's Handbell Ensemble. Ella Crane is a fourth-year music education major at SDSU, has been dancing for 18 years and involved in musical theatre for 5 years, has choreographed musicals including “The Lion King Jr.,” “Schoolhouse Rock Jr.,” and “Seussical,” played roles such as Fantine in “Les Misérables,” Ursula in “The Little Mermaid,” and Peppermint Patty in “You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown,” and is the music director and assistant choreographer for SoundWave, SDSU’s premier co-ed competitive a cappella ensemble.
St. Bartholomew’s Episcopal Church states as its mission that it is called to be disciples of Christ, revealing his life, love, and light to the world, and its vision describes St. Bart’s as a welcoming, inclusive faith family sharing and teaching the love of Jesus Christ through worship, actions, and outreach. St. Bart's campus serves as a meeting and worship space for two additional church congregations, community partners, recovery groups, and an all-gender Scout troop. St. Bart's feeds, serves, supports, and loves neighbors experiencing homelessness and food insecurity, as well as refugees, veterans, orphans and migrants at the border, and children in Haiti, and it stands in unity with the LGBTQ+ community and neighbor synagogues. St. Bartholomew’s Thrift Shop grew from a church rummage sale to a 5,000-square-foot retail store on Poway Road, served Poway and surrounding communities for 53 years, and its proceeds fully funded St. Bart’s outreach programs.
