About
WeEMBRACE Enrichment Programs offers free classes for individuals with different abilities, along with enrichment programs, social activities, talent shows, holiday parties, an annual Sports Day, a Dance-a-thon, and an inclusive 5K Walk/Run. The program also includes an Adaptive Sports program with activities such as Adaptive Basketball, as well as the Embrace Stars talent show. Families can also access a Buddy Match program, seminars and workshops for parents, and WhatsApp support groups for parents, professionals, and well-wishers.

WeEMBRACE was founded in 2018 and is a 501(c)(3) registered nonprofit support organization. Its mission is to provide a complete and comprehensive support system for the families of children, adults, and seniors with different abilities and to promote the inclusion of individuals with different abilities in areas such as employment, education, housing, recreation, and leisure. The organization focuses on serving individuals who are neuro-diverse and their families and emphasizes acceptance and possibilities.
The Buddy Match program pairs volunteers with individuals with different abilities who have similar interests, and buddies meet once a week, currently virtually due to COVID-19. This program is meant to improve communication skills and increase awareness of neurodiversity. General volunteering opportunities are available for events, in-person classes, and administrative work, and the website is managed by a high school student with a stated passion for using technology to create meaningful social impact.

The leadership team includes Cofounder and President/CEO Meena Kalyanasundaram, Cofounder and Chief Financial Officer Som Sundararajan, Advisory Board member Aparna Agarwal, Board Members Satish Pallapottu, Akila Dharmalingam, Nithya Ramachandran, and Srinivas Konchada, and Website Manager Amish Gupta. Meena holds an MBA and an MS in Special Education; Som holds a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering; Nithya has an MS in Computer Application; and Srinivas holds an MS degree in Computer Science and an MBA with a focus on leadership.
