Catch N Cook California offers Coastal Foraging & Poke Poling, Guided Freedive-Spearfishing, Shore Fishing, Crab Snaring, Wild Mushroom Identification, and Bushcraft Survival. Shore Fishing includes guided instruction and hands-on experience to sustainably harvest wild fish on rocky reefs or sandy shores of the California coast. Crab Snaring includes learning where and how to cast snares, read the tides, and safely harvest and process Dungeness crabs for the table.

About the provider
The program is led by Kevin Smith, who is described as a California native, PhD archaeologist, experienced forager, researcher, and local adventure guide. Its mission is to foster a deep appreciation for the natural world while preserving ancestral technologies and sustainable harvest practices. It also uses Leave No Trace ethics and sustainable harvesting practices, and its classes emphasize seasonality, safety, and ecological stewardship. The program offers group workshops, private bookings, and seasonal courses from Southern to Northern California in small group settings.
