About
Red Bank Outdoor Academy offers week-long camps where students take part in outdoor recreation skills, conservation skills, hunter safety education, and the California State Hunter Education Course. Camp activities include firearm safety, marksmanship, wildlife management, archery, rifle shooting, shotgun shooting, fishing for bass and bluegill, learning outdoor skills and safety, first aid, and sporting clays.

Red Bank Outdoor Academy offers six week-long camps each summer, each camp housing over 35 students. The 2026 summer camp dates are June 7–11 (Level I), June 14–18 (Level I & II Combo), June 21–25 (Level I & II Combo), July 5–9 (Level II), July 12–16 (Level I & II Combo), and July 19–23 (Level I & II Combo).
Red Bank Outdoor Academy references 28 years safely operating kids summer camps and a clean safety record for all 28 years of camp. Red Bank Outfitters, which hosts the camps, is one of the oldest hunting clubs in California and was founded in 1965, with a history of over 50 years. Each camp includes access to 11 bass and bluegill fishing ponds, an archery range, rifle range, trap range, a classroom for outdoor skills and safety, first aid, conservation, and the California Hunter’s Education Course, a custom swimming pool with a wading area, seating area, and waterfall, fully automated trap machines, and an 18-station sporting clay course.
All Red Bank Outdoor Academy and Red Bank Outfitters staff are CPR and First Aid certified. Red Bank Outdoor Academy’s lead firearms instructors have extensive knowledge regarding all types of firearms and have been through the highest level training at Gunsite in Arizona. Instructors are certified Level One National Sporting Clay Instructors and NRA Pistol, Rifle, and Shotgun Instructors. Each student will earn a California State Hunter Education Certificate upon completing the weeklong course, if they pass the test at the end of the week. The Executive Director is Cal Wolverton. Red Bank Outfitters also often hosts corporate events for a wide range of businesses and offers a year-round professional guide service when not hosting summer camps.
