Star Kids Preschool offers a teacher-guided, child-centered curriculum in an academically structured environment. The program uses a curriculum that focuses on creativity, special talents, and strengths of students, individually and collectively. The program includes meals and accepts all subsidized programs.

In 2017, Star Kids Preschool was opened by owner and director Christy Avila. The leadership team includes Owner/Director Christy Avila and Director Jocelyn Alvarez. Star Kids Preschool is a licensed preschool with License # 364846472 and offers a thoughtful, comprehensive curriculum where children from 2 to 5 years old grow, explore, and build the foundation they need for kindergarten.
Owner/Director Christy Avila earned an M.S. in Early Childhood Education, a B.A. in Child Development, a B.A. in Psychology, and an A.S. in Early Childhood Studies, obtained a Program Director Child Development Permit from the State of California, and maintains an active membership with the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). Ms. Jocelyn graduated from Victor Valley College with an associate in science degree in Early Childhood Education. Marina Reyes is attending San Bernardino Valley Community College and will be receiving associate degrees in Child Development and Liberal Arts. Ms. Elizabeth graduated with a bachelor’s degree in child development from Cal State Los Angeles. Ms. Emily attended Crafton Hills College and majored in Early Child Development. Ms. Beatriz is attending Crafton Hills College and is earning an associate’s degree in Early Childhood Development. Ms. Tara is pursuing her associate degree at San Bernardino Valley College and plans to continue her education in Family and Child Studies. Ms. Jonnie earned her bachelor’s degree in Human Development with a specialization in Child Development from Cal State East Bay.
The mission of Star Kids Preschool is to develop and foster a teacher-guided, child-centered curriculum that brings out the creativity, special talents, and strengths of students in an academically structured environment. The mission also states that the programs are intended to empower students to tackle challenges and take on experiences that may be new to them, while keeping learning fun and dynamic.
Parent testimonials describe clean classrooms, staff who help with potty training, and regular disinfection of the school and toys. Parents report that food is provided every day and mention that children have learned skills such as talking more, singing songs, knowing the alphabet, colors, animals, and colors in Spanish.
