Junior Academy offers year-round, typically 6-week long academies open to children 5 to 10 years old. After School Soccer is offered in the fall and spring at Central, Cipriani, and Nesbit Elementary Schools in Belmont, with Thursday sessions at Central for Central students and Friday sessions at Cipriani for Cipriani students. All players in After School Soccer receive a Belmont United Soccer Club (BUSC) practice jersey and are asked to bring a ball with their name on it, a water bottle, and to wear cleats or sneakers, shin guards, and appropriate soccer clothing.
Spring Break Camp 2026 runs April 6–10, Monday through Friday from 9am to 1pm, is open to players aged 5 and older of all playing abilities, and accepts non-Belmont United players not in another soccer club; players are asked to bring a ball with their name on it and a water bottle. Summer Camps 2026 run for seven weeks (June 8–12, June 15–19, June 22–26, July 13–17, July 20–24, July 27–31, and August 3–7), Monday through Friday, with Full Day (9am–3pm), Half Day (9am–12pm), and Afternoon only (1pm–3pm) options, and lunch from 12pm–1pm each day. Check-in for Summer Camps begins at 8:45am each day, and a goalkeeper session runs each camp week from 1:30pm–3:00pm on Tuesday and Thursday with arrival by 1:15pm. Summer Camps are open to all players aged 5 and older, of all playing abilities, not just those registered with Belmont United, and camp levels are grouped as Active Start! (age 5–6), Love the Ball Love the Game (age 7–10), and Learning through Play (age 11–14). For Summer Camps, players are asked to bring a ball with their name on it, multiple water bottles, and to wear cleats or sneakers, shin guards, and appropriate soccer clothing; half day campers should bring a snack, and full day campers should bring a snack and lunch. Full Day and Half Day Summer Campers receive a BUSC practice jersey.
Pick-up Soccer is offered during the fall and spring season to Belmont United club players and provides 60–90 minutes of free play, drop-in soccer games. The Goalkeeper Clinic is offered during the fall and spring season to club players and provides 1 to 2 hours of specialized goalkeeper training, with goalkeeper training available for players at the 9v9 and 11v11 age groups (2016 birth year and older). The Winter Season is offered during winter to club players and includes ball skills, futsal, pickup games, and goalie training. Pick-up Soccer, the Goalkeeper Clinic, and Winter Season programs are exclusive to Belmont United club team players.
Belmont United offers competitive team soccer for boys and girls aged U8–U19. Up to and including the U13 age group, players are guaranteed a minimum of 50% playing time over the course of a season, and U14 players and above earn their playing time based on attendance, work ethic, ability, being a good teammate, and focus. Programs are open to youth players of all skill levels, and Spring Break Camp 2026 and Summer Camps 2026 are open to non-Belmont United players who are not in another soccer club.
Belmont United Soccer Club was founded in 2002 and is a nonprofit dedicated to providing competitive soccer for the youth in Belmont, Redwood Shores, and neighboring communities. The Belmont United Way is the club’s defining philosophy and describes its values and approach to youth club soccer, including a commitment to high-level, competitive play that strives toward growth and continual improvement of individual players and teams as a whole. The Belmont United Way states the club’s belief that competitive play and playing with integrity are not mutually exclusive and that the club is based on a player development model that aims to place players at a playing level where they can be challenged but also be successful, and to value player and team development over winning.
Programs are led by the Director of Coaching and supported by professional coaches from the club, and the club coaches are described as professional and highly trained. The leadership team includes Eric Chen (President), Bonny Hinkle (Treasurer and Director of Managers), Jeff Criswell (Secretary), Alya Mcginlay (Director of Scheduling), Laila Dafik (Director of Fundraising), an open role for Director at Large Player Development, Richard Williams (Director of Coaching), Rachel Morin (Technical Director – 7v7 and 9v9 Girls), Eric Gee (Technical Director – 7v7 and 9v9 Boys), Ozhan Ghajar (Technical Director – 11v11), Nate Flowers (Technical Director – Player Development), Martin Dixon (Director of Coach Education), Chris Zaino (Director of Operations, Registrar), Kara Latta (Director of Finance), Darrell Ringman (Referee Assignor), and Jeromy Cottell and Tak Frazita (Referee Mentors). Parents volunteer their time and resources to the club community to support their player’s team and the club.
