Allegro Ballroom and Club

Allegro Ballroom and Club offers fun classes, parties, special events, private lessons, and practice time in a ballroom dance setting. The program includes specific dance styles such as Argentine Tango, Milonga, Rumba, Viennese Waltz, Bachata, Chicago Steppin’, and West Coast Swing, along with workshops. The space is also available for private rentals for wedding parties, birthdays, rehearsals, meetings, conferences, and similar events.

• Schedule: Front desk hours run Tuesday through Sunday starting at 5:00 PM, closing at 9:30 PM on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and at 11:00 PM on Thursdays through Sundays.

Allegro Ballroom and Club is a dance education studio run by Allegro Dancers, Inc., a non-profit, public-benefits educational 501(c)(3) corporation dedicated to dance education in the San Francisco Bay Area. Allegro Ballroom has five ballrooms that together provide 20,000 square feet of dance areas and practice space, each with a quality sound system, ceiling-mounted speakers, and colorful party ceiling lights. The organization has operated successfully since 1994 and is run by members and volunteers, with approximately 100 members supporting operations by staffing the front desk, volunteering as DJs, organizing special events, and serving on an elected Board of Directors. Allegro Ballroom and Club notes that no partner is needed because partners rotate in classes, masks are optional, and exact change for entrance fees is appreciated to speed check-in, and it offers an Allegro Member Dance Pass that provides savings for members.

The leadership team includes Louise Kirby as President and General Manager, Technology and Website Director, and Program Director; Ann Keen as Secretary; and Simin “Soosan” Litkouhi as Vice President.
