Skytown Parent Cooperative Preschool

Skytown Parent Cooperative Preschool offers tours and playdates in a multi-age classroom that includes a large sand area, indoor painting station, art table, easels, sand boxes, a sensory bin, and access to the outdoors. The program uses a child-centered, play-based emergent curriculum in an environment where children are able to self-direct their own play. Parents participate in the classroom, engage in parent education, and become part of the Skytown community through the co-operative school model where parents and children learn together.

• Schedule: School year follows a 12 month calendar; tours take place the first Friday of every month from 10:30–11:30 AM.
• Price: TODDLER PROGRAM (18m–3 years old): 3 days/week $728.00 per month; 4 days/week $970.00 per month. PRESCHOOL PROGRAM (2.5–5 years old): 3 days/week $594.00 per month; 4 days/week $792.00 per month; 5 days/week $986.00 per month. At Skytown, teachers and parents work together to create a play-based, emergent curriculum and support the development of self-confident, self-aware, and compassionate human beings. The mixed-age classroom is described as allowing for scaffolding in literacy and communication, with an emphasis on social and emotional development and the practice of self-care as a formal curriculum focus. Skytown offers programs for toddlers 18 months to 3 years old and preschoolers 2.5 to 5 years old, with children always having access to the outdoors and to a large sand area for digging and building projects.
