• Schedule: GSG Recreational Basketball League runs on Sundays from March 22, 2026 to May 10, 2026, with no games on April 5, 2026, and free basketball clinics on select Sundays from 11:00am to 12:30pm in February and March 2026.

The GSG Recreational Basketball League is a fun recreational league for players ages 7 through 14 years old and accepts players of all skill levels. Each player is evaluated and placed on a team in an appropriate age division, with Sunday games and practices for all teams. Registration closes on March 15, 2026 or when the league is full, and there are no spectator fees for regular season games, with a nominal spectator fee during playoff weekends. As part of joining the league, players receive an annual Youth Club membership that includes access to weekly activities such as basketball, baseball, football, karate, DIY Stem, art, drama, and more.
Game rules include 8-minute quarters, an All Play Rule where every player must play in at least two full quarters, specific timeout and overtime rules, no shot clock with a 10-second back court violation, and a running clock that stops in the last 2 minutes of the game except in 20-point leads. Press rules vary by division, including Little Ballers, Jr. Ballers, Ballers, and Big Ballers. Players do not foul out, and technical fouls result in two shots and the ball, with disqualification after a second technical for a player or coach. Tie-breakers use head-to-head results, point differential with a maximum of 15 points, and points allowed. GSG requires that all parents and spectators maintain good sportsmanship, and misbehavior or ejections lead to suspensions and penalties determined by the Tournament Director.
Youth tournaments are open to all skill levels with multiple competition levels. The Youth Rec League focuses on a positive, inclusive environment where young athletes can learn the fundamentals, stay active, and make new friends. Tiny Tots Basketball is designed for ages 4–8 and introduces the basics of dribbling, passing, and shooting. The official GSG Hoops app provides real-time updates, game schedules, team news, and exclusive content. GSG states that its mission is to be a premier destination for basketball tournaments, leagues, and events in the San Francisco Bay Area, with a focus on inspiring a love for the game, fostering teamwork, and promoting sportsmanship on and off the court.
