Nomura Preschool offers soccer, gymnastics, dance, music, age-appropriate academics, enriching art, creative free play, and stimulating physical activities. The program includes an extracurricular program with end-of-the-year performances where students show the skills they have learned. Nomura Preschool offers toddler, preschool, and pre-kindergarten classes as part of its high quality early education for children ages 18 months–5 years old. The mission of Nomura Preschool is to build connections between students and the world around them. The campus has been newly updated and has the look and feel of a cozy, welcoming village for young learners, and it takes up almost one whole city block with multiple spaces for children to learn, explore, and grow. The program has served Richmond, Albany, El Cerrito, Berkeley, and surrounding communities since 1964, and its commitment to early child development dates back to its founding in 1964 by Mrs. Faith Nomura. The leadership team includes Matthew Clark as School Administrator, Melanie Clark as Admissions Director, and Keiko Hernandez as School Director. The staff includes a diverse group of teachers from a variety of different backgrounds, and teachers are described as patient, dedicated, experienced educators who strive to instill in all students a passion and love for learning.
