About
Soccer Shots introduces children to soccer through age-appropriate soccer skills that focus on using their feet, dribbling, passing, and shooting. The program also teaches basic rules of the game and uses songs and fun games during sessions. Activities take place in a safe environment called Soccer Island, and some program types introduce competitive play and team competitions.
Soccer Shots offers programs for kids 18 months to 8 years old, with program types called MINI (Toddler), CLASSIC (Preschool), and PREMIER (School-Age). The curriculum is expert-designed, developmentally appropriate, and aligns with early childhood education standards, and it was created under the guidance of childhood education specialists, professional soccer players, and experienced and licensed soccer coaches. Sessions highlight a positive character trait in each meeting, such as respect, teamwork, and appreciation. Every Soccer Shots coach must complete a comprehensive training program to receive certification, is trained in the use of developmentally appropriate techniques, and is routinely evaluated and given ongoing training. The organization states that its mission as the premier Children’s Soccer Experience is to positively impact children’s lives. Soccer Shots was formed in 1997, began franchising in 2005, and opened its first four franchises in Ohio, Delaware, Florida, and Pennsylvania. Founding partners are Jeremy Sorzano and Jason Webb, and a third partner, Justin Bredeman, joined in May 2009. Soccer Shots is offered in over 43 states and two provinces across the U.S. and Canada, with over 300 territories and more than 560,000 enrollments in 2023, and Soccer Shots Franchising, LLC is based in central Pennsylvania, just east of Harrisburg. Soccer Shots is consistently recognized by Entrepreneur Magazine as the #1 Children’s Fitness Franchise in the U.S., and it is positioned as a best-in-class children’s soccer program with a focus on character development. Through partnerships with the U.S. Soccer Foundation, Nike, and other organizations, Soccer Shots aims to impact children and communities across the U.S. and the world. Parents have shared feedback such as seeing growth in their children over months in the program, appreciating organized sessions that keep kids engaged, and noting positive experiences with coaches and instructors.
