About
TNT Kidz Center Summer Camp includes weekly Wake Island field trips and time at skate parks as part of its summer programming. The camp runs for 8 weeks and also connects with other TNT Kidz Center offerings such as music, dance, martial arts, homeschool enrichment, sports, and full-day childcare programs.
• Ages: 4–14 years old
• Schedule: Preschool and School Age Camps run Monday–Friday, 8am–6pm, within an 8-week summer session
The program includes a Preschool Camp for children ages 4 years old through TK with a separate calendar and no offsite field trips, and a School Age Camp for children ages 6–14 years old. Each week of the 2026 summer camp follows a specific theme: Week 1 “Welcome to Summer!” (June 8–12), Week 2 “Full S.T.E.A.M. Ahead!” (June 15–19), Week 3 “Nature Ninjas!” (June 22–26), Week 4 “Beach Bash!” (June 29–July 3), Week 5 “Carnival Craziness!” (July 13–17), Week 6 “Galactic Explorers!” (July 20–24), Week 7 “Water Wars & Big Splashes!” (July 27–31), and Week 8 “Art Around The World!” (August 3–7).
TNT Kidz Center states that its mission is to teach students through mental, emotional, and physical self-discipline how to positively transform their character in all areas of their lives. The camp focuses on character traits, with every week dedicated to a specific trait, and includes discussions about honesty, integrity, responsibility, and respectfulness. Students are encouraged to take healthy risks that challenge their courage and confidence while they work to reach new skill levels and abilities, and teachers model, set, and praise examples of good character. The program describes its goal as being a character development program and expresses a belief in transparency, family inclusion, and individual choice, as well as a desire to create a community of families with a growth mindset and a passion for being better parents and community members.
The leadership team includes owners Kyle and Emily Balga, along with Emily, Kyle, Athena, Zus, and Leonidas Balga, and teachers and administrators Mr. Kenny and Ms. Danielle. The organization describes its history as beginning in 2017 with a major effort to bring their dream to life, followed by frustration in 2018 with the influence they had while running other programs. In February 2020 they decided to lease their first commercial space, referred to as their Music Studio, and in August 2020 Mrs. Emily learned that a local daycare was closing one of its locations, after which she licensed their home in Rocklin as an in-home daycare and they began operating their first summer camp. TNT Kidz Center notes that it has received help from families, friends, staff members, and its landlord, and specifically mentions support from landlord Mr. Ed Fong and his son Jeff, as well as financial support from the Hafeman, Altaffer, McBride, Pasewark, and Kloetzer families. The organization also states an ultimate goal of growing its current center into a program for preschool-aged children and below and then opening a campus that offers high-level training for a wide variety of athletics, arts, and different activities, with school-age programming eventually moving into that complex.
