About
Roseville Parent Education Preschool offers exploration, play, and discovery through hands-on experiences such as riding bikes on winding paths, playing in sand and water, and exploring climbing structures and playhouses. Children engage in a monthly-changing dramatic play area, puzzles, circle time, building with building materials, playing musical instruments, rotating sensory tables, small parts play, and weekly art projects. The program also includes adventures at the zipline, exploring the fairy garden, and playing in a child-sized dig zone.
• Ages: 2–6 years old
• Schedule: Bi-monthly business and education meetings at Roseville High School held the second Tuesday of every other month from 6:30–8:30 PM.
Since 1977, Roseville Parent Education Preschool has been a cooperative preschool bringing families and educators together, and in 2012 it found its permanent campus. The program states that children learn best through play and meaningful connection. It operates as a non-profit 501(c)(3) parent-participation preschool with small class sizes of up to 15 children in each class, and only one class uses the campus space at a time. Enrollment is open year-round depending on space availability, potty training is not required, and children of all abilities are welcome. All caregivers, including parents, grandparents, or trusted adults, are welcome to participate.
Families at Roseville Parent Education Preschool complete 6–9 maintenance hours per year (6 for Toddler & Me and 9 for AM Class), complete $200 in fundraising per school year, attend assigned classroom workdays, attend bi-monthly parent education meetings, serve on one committee, and hold one Projects & Activities job or a Board position. The school partners with Roseville Adult School for adult school enrollment, and families participate in fundraising events that help fund scholarships, music, and special programs throughout the year. The program uses Brightwheel for tuition, payments, and classroom updates, and the Band app for classroom news, event reminders, and sharing moments from the child’s day.
One parent review from Shaina Milosevic describes patient and flexible teachers, large outdoor play areas with the majority of the school day spent outside, a play-based philosophy with a variety of hands-on experiences, individualized plans to address separation, and a strong sense of trust and gratitude for the preschool community.
