Ross Recreation Afterschool Classes & Programs offers activities such as tennis, pickleball, youth basketball, and the Kids Club After School Program. Kids Club is an on-site after school program offered at Ross School for grades K–5. Ross Recreation also oversees field rentals on Ross Common and rentals of Three Bear Hut and its surrounding picnic area.
• Ages: 5–18 years old
• Schedule: Kids Club follows the Ross School calendar and begins on all regular school days at dismissal time; in-office hours are daily from 2:00pm–5:00pm.
Ross Recreation was established in 1972 as a department of the Town of Ross and operates as a self-supporting department under the Town of Ross. Its mission is to provide a program of instruction to the public on subjects beneficial to the Ross community in which an individual may improve or develop him or herself physically, mentally, and or socially. Ross Recreation offers over 100 classes annually for all age groups, from infants to seniors, and provides a Fee Assistance Application program for access to recreation activities offered by the department. The Ross Tennis Court access key is restricted to those with a current Ross address or families of Ross School District, and registration is only considered complete once payment has been received, with a $30 transfer fee applied to any customer program changes or transfers.
Ross Recreation and Ross School District have a strong history of collaboration and share similar goals in offering recreation to students and the public, which led to a Memorandum of Understanding in November 2012. The leadership team includes Maureen Borthwick, Recreation Manager; Wyatt Mann, Recreation Coordinator; Mallory Beren, Recreation Clerk; Kiara Ortiz, Lead Recreation Instructor / Kids Club; Jean Marc Schafer, Lead Sports Instructor; Lorenzo “Coach C” Cowell, Lead Sports Instructor / Kids Club; and Kelly Nunez, Lead Instructor / Kids Club.
