The Wilderness Cubs Program of Ross includes nature walks, hiking, scavenger hunts, and nature-inspired arts and crafts. Children take part in live animal presentations, nature-themed art projects, reading, singing, and activities like using binoculars and nets. The program has an outdoor educational curriculum that incorporates animal presentations while learning about each animal’s habitats and routines, with wildlife specialists teaching about safety in nature in an age-appropriate and kid-friendly way, and it has a stated focus on safety and environmental awareness in an age-appropriate way.

• Ages: 3–5 years old
• Schedule: Class options Tues–Thurs, 8:30 AM–12:30 PM, with choices from 1 to 3 days per week and a late stay option until 3 PM; drop-in days available

The Wilderness Cubs Program of Ross is presented by Ross Cottage Nursery School in collaboration with the Town of Ross, and is described as the Wilderness Cubs Ross Recreation Program presented and run by the creators of Ross Cottage Nursery School in partnership with the Town of Ross. Hiking boots and outdoor clothing are required each day.
