Explorer Camp offers activities focused on the outdoors and leadership. Participants can engage in a variety of adventure outings, supported by a full-service bike shop and equipment rentals. The camp also features an on-campus ropes course for additional outdoor experiences.

In the early 1970s, two Sacramento State students initiated the creation of a tool co-op on campus, which eventually led to the development of programs like Explorer Camp. The camp is a program of Associated Students, Inc. at Sacramento State, with a mission to foster personal growth, leadership, and connections through outdoor experiences.
