ASI Peak Adventures offers outdoor trips, adventure trips, summer camps, day hikes, backpacking trips to Point Reyes National Seashore, and rock-climbing classes. The program also provides an on-campus ropes course with ropes course facilitation and team building experiences. Families can access a full-service bike shop, bicycle repair, gear rentals, classes and clinics, and retail services through ASI Peak Adventures.

In the early 1970s, two Sacramento State students established a tool co-op that became the campus’s first bicycle shop, which later became Peak Adventures in 1989 as a program of Associated Students Incorporated (ASI). ASI Peak Adventures is an outdoor recreation program at California State University, Sacramento dedicated to getting people started in outdoor adventures and serves thousands of customers each year. The program operates as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, employs eight professional staff members plus over 50 student and non-student staff members, and states that all are welcome. Peak Adventures’ purpose is to foster personal growth, leadership, and connections through outdoor experiences and is committed to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of its work. The Peak Adventures Challenge Center, which includes the on-campus ropes course, was designed and constructed by Peak Adventures’ student and non-student staff. ASI Peak Adventures has been featured on the Visit Sacramento Podcast “Peak Adventures at Sacramento State is Your Gateway to the Outdoors” and the State Hornet Podcast “The Nature of the Hive: Peaking in life with Peak Adventures!”
