First Tee – Greater Sacramento

First Tee – Greater Sacramento offers golf activities that include summer camps, after school programs, Saturday programs, and a competitive junior golf tour. The program also runs the California Eagles (Special Olympics), adaptive physical education classes, the Swing Club for the Blind, and the First Tee School Program. First Tee – Greater Sacramento has 11 program locations in the greater Sacramento area and serves juniors with a variety of golf-based personal growth programs.

First Tee – Greater Sacramento has positively impacted young people in the area since 1983 with youth development programs running throughout the year. It is one of First Tee’s largest chapters and is described as a leader in the field of programs for young people and the disabled. The organization states that it is Building Game Changers by empowering kids and teens through golf and reaches over 58,000 young people annually, with a farm system that supports children as young as 3 until they reach college. First Tee describes its mission as integrating the game of golf with a life skills curriculum to create active learning experiences that build inner strength, self-confidence, and resilience. Corporations and foundations provide financial and brand-building assistance to support the mission and community impact of First Tee.
