About
Beginners Summer Camps introduces kids to fencing through fencing basics, games, footwork, drills, and bouting. Camp days include a lunch break from 12 pm to 12:45 pm during the 9 am to 3 pm camp hours. Loaner gear, including a saber, is provided, along with a PFA Team Shirt and a draw-string backpack.
• Ages: 7–14 years old
• Schedule: Week-long sessions offered between June 10 and August 7, 2026, from 9 am to 3 pm
• Price: $399.00
The camp is led by professional coaches with over 20 years of experience. The leadership team includes Tsvetelina and Kristiyan, a wife-and-husband coaching team who are parents of three and are based in Sacramento, CA. Premier Fencing Foundation states its mission as providing resources to help athletes become their best selves on and off the piste. The program is limited to 24 participants, and full payment is required for registration. Graduates can join the Bronze program, and there are flexible classes for all levels, including once-a-week options and a competitive pathway. Premier Fencing Academy reports being one of the top fencing academies in the nation, training hundreds of athletes who have qualified for USA National Teams, earned medals at regional, national, and international levels, and been recruited by Ivy League and Division I universities. An all-ages introductory training program is also available for one month and includes three private or semi-private 40-minute lessons, a PFA T-shirt, and loaner gear (mask, jacket, glove, and saber).
Families are asked to send campers with a healthy lunch, comfortable gym clothes, clean tennis shoes, water, and snacks. Parent testimonials describe the coaches as amazing, dedicated, supportive, and knowledgeable, and mention a large and comfortable facility, strong communication, and a community where many kids and families have stayed for years. Parents also report that the club accommodates beginners through competitive fencers and that returning to the academy feels like coming home.
