About

Sacramento United Competitive Youth Soccer Program offers competitive youth soccer with year-round training, training camps, and intra-club friendly games. Players take part in futsal for U8–U15 teams, joint training sessions, and weekly strength and conditioning sessions for older competitive teams during the spring and fall seasons. Teams participate in local, regional, and national tournaments, and U8–U11 boys and girls compete in a Winter Cup held in late winter.

Sacramento United Competitive Youth Soccer Program is led by experienced and licensed soccer coaches and is co-led and managed by former Costa Rican International Reymond Harris and by Juan Fresquez. The leadership team includes Club President Albert Regalado, Vice President Brent Sasaki, Director Of Managers Ellen Martin, Director Of Membership Anthony Esparza, Director Of Finance Gustavo Vega, Volunteer Coordinator and Administrative Support Rosa Paragas, Event Coordinator Preet Kandola, Equipment Manager Brookes Hewell, and Club Registrar Danielle Dominguez. Founded in 1977, Sacramento United has over 50 teams and 1,200 players annually in the competitive program and runs a club-wide training and coaching program where all players and teams learn from all the coaches in common training sessions and training camps.

Since 1977, Sacramento United has stated a mission of nurturing players’ technical, tactical, physical, and psychological growth to help them achieve their utmost potential, with training and coaching goals that include building character and instilling positive values through hard work, responsibility, mutual respect, and teamwork, and instilling in players a lifelong love and understanding of the game of soccer. The club develops relations with recreational clubs and fosters player and parental involvement in planning, organization, and administration of the program. Sacramento United participates in competition in NorCal (spring and fall) and NPL (contingent on qualification) leagues, the Girls Academy League for U13–U19 in the 2025–26 season, and MLS NEXT Homegrown for the 2025–26 season offering a full pathway U13–U19 with Homegrown and Academy platforms, including a new MLS NEXT Academy platform for 2025–26.

The program integrates futsal as part of the training curriculum for U8–U15 teams and provides full access to team matches captured through VEO with high-quality video. Each player receives an individualized Player Development plan, and families have access to the BYGA mobile app with schedules, rosters, team chat, instant messaging, RSVPs, and more. Sacramento United offers a College Workshop Program with online seminars and workshops educating players and parents, and a Financial Assistance Program for families that qualify (Ofrecemos Ayuda Financiera para familias que califican). The club is designated as a Players 1st Club by US Club Soccer and has a track record of developing players who excel at collegiate and professional levels, and it notes proud Sacramento United partners. Nike Uniform Kits for boys and girls are required and are not covered by the club.
