Step I Dance & Fitness Youth/Teen Program offers a range of dance and fitness classes, including Zumba, Fierce Funk, Stretch, Sculpt & Define, Pilates, Yoga, Barre, Contemporary Jazz, Hip Hop, Tap, and Ballet. Classes are held in person, with Zoom available by request only. Tuition is based on 4 week blocks of class instruction, and make-up classes are available in any appropriate class that a student is not registered for.

• Schedule: Youth/Teen 20 weeks
• Price: Youth/Teen 1 class/week: $94 per 4 week block; 2 classes/week: $188; 3 classes/week: $264; 4 classes/week: $336; 5 classes/week: $400; 6 classes/week: $456. Youth/Teen annual registration: $35 per student, $45 per family due each Fall Session. $15 recital fee added to tuition payment the month before showcase. Trial class participation fee: $26. Adult membership plans: Fitness classes only $90 monthly; Dance & Fitness classes $135 monthly. Adult registration fee: $30 when membership is first initiated (does not apply to drop in fees). Adult drop in rates: Zumba $15; Hip Hop $15; all other adult classes $18. Zumba 5-class card: $50.

Step I Dance & Fitness describes itself as “The Best Dance and Fitness Studio in Northern California” and invites participants to experience the energy of cutting-edge dance and fitness. The studio notes that membership fees are processed monthly through EFT from a checking account, and adult membership is ongoing until written cancellation with 30 day notice prior to the transaction date. Step I emphasizes a family-like, diverse, and inclusive environment where “We Are One,” and states that it has made it a mission to prioritize a diverse and inclusive population where a sense of belonging is an organic element of what it stands for. Owners Pepper Von and Mary Wright lead the program as co-owners of Step I Dance & Fitness. As of November 2020, Step I reports celebrating 33 years of providing quality dance and fitness education to the Sacramento community and has been involved in providing this education to the Sacramento community for more than 30 years. For youth dress code, Ballet classes require a black leotard and pink tights; Jazz/Tap classes require stretchy, tight-fitting clothing; and Hip Hop classes require comfortable clothing and tennis shoes.
