TOPSoccer is a program where participants play a modified version of soccer with their peers and high-school age “Buddies” who serve as volunteers. One-on-one assistance is available to kids who need it during soccer activities.
• Ages: 4–18 years old
• Schedule: Summer/Fall 2026 playdates on August 16, August 30, September 6, September 13, September 20, and October 4, from 9am–10am
• Price: Cost: $60 and includes uniform (if a player already has a uniform and does not need another, they can use the "UNIFORM26" voucher; no cost for Buddies and Coaches; Alta Clients can register and use the voucher code "ALTACRC26" after securing a Top Soccer POS Agreement-PA2525)
TOPSoccer is a program of SYSL and emphasizes development and meaningful participation rather than competition. It enables young athletes with special needs to develop their physical fitness, technical skills, courage, and self-esteem through the joy and excitement of playing soccer. Soccer in this program is described as an excellent way for players to get exercise, improve coordination, and meet other kids dealing with the same or similar challenges. Parents can network with other families for support and information-sharing.
In-person registration is available at any of the fall play dates. If someone is 13–17, they can become a TOPSoccer Buddy. If someone is 18 or older, they can volunteer as a Buddy or Coach and will go through a background check. Volunteering as a Buddy or Coach is described as great for volunteer hours and senior projects.
