Yemaso Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Academy

Yemaso Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Academy offers Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu classes for children and adults, including beginner Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, standup, and self defense. The academy also offers women’s Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu classes and a women’s program that is exclusively a female experience. Classes are open to all skill levels and include training under multiple world champions and a 5th-degree black belt.

Yemaso Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Academy was founded in 2011 to serve the greater Sacramento area and is described as a world class Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and martial arts academy. The academy’s aim is to provide a structured and disciplined institution where Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is taught with clarity, precision, and accountability, and its vision includes supporting students in doing their personal best, creating bonds with students, supporting health through jiu-jitsu exercise, and building a strong Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu competition team. It is described as the most competitively successful Brazilian Jiu Jitsu institution in the Sacramento region and the most successful BJJ school in the Sacramento area, and it became the first and only Sacramento-based Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu team to secure an International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation (IBJJF) team trophy, with champions at every belt level and across kids, juvenile, adult, masters, and seniors divisions.

The academy is led by Marcos “Yemaso” Torregrosa, a Sacramento BJJ instructor, 3-time World Champion, 5th-degree black belt, owner, and professor who teaches classes for both recreational Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioners and BJJ champion athletes, and he is described as currently ranked 1st in the world.
