• Price: Tuition: $300 for online, check or cash payment; $325 for charter school purchase orders. If paying with a charter school purchase order a $25 fee will be added to cover the extra administrative time for charter school invoicing.
ARIEL Theatrical is led by Gail Higginbotham, Founder of ARIEL Theatrical Inc. More than 30 years ago, Gail Higginbotham made a commitment to the children of Monterey County to create a place for them to learn and grow. ARIEL Theatrical is a nonprofit organization that offers year-round programs in theatre arts for children and adolescents. Its stated mission is to help young people learn to lead principle-centered lives and to inspire them to understand that personal integrity, respect for others and an acceptance of responsibility for choices made are the keys to building a successful life. ARIEL focuses on practicing Accountability, Respect, Integrity, Excellence and Leadership to help young people become a positive force in their families, their schools, their communities and in the world.
ARIEL is supported in part by the Arts Council for Monterey County with funding from the Monterey County Board of Supervisors, and ARIEL Theatrical participates “backstage” at the Salinas Rodeo. One participant, Ian Clark, states that the maxim “I can do hard things” and the characteristics of discipline, modesty, and a willingness to serve are taught at ARIEL and are qualities he seeks to embody in his life. Participant and parent Nick Pasculli says that ARIEL has allowed him to be a mentor to young people and has helped him ask critical questions about his own life and actions. Volunteer Margaret Woehler describes seeing both young and mature people, with distinct qualities, doing so much to enrich many lives, and says this makes someone of her age feel there is so much to live for.
