Artists Ink Youth Arts Programs offers activities in painting, illustration, ceramics, creative writing, acting, music composition, music production, theater, film, and visual performance. Youth can take part in public art murals, theatrical performances, staged readings, film projects, art markets, live showcases, artist gatherings, and fundraisers. Program offerings include Summer Spray, Recorder & Vocals, and Open Studio, along with weekly visual arts and performing arts sessions.
• Schedule: Summer Spray sessions run on select Mondays and Wednesdays in June and July 2026 at 5pm, Recorder & Vocals meets Thursdays at 5pm from July 2 to July 23, 2026, and Open Studio meets Fridays at 5pm from July 3 to July 24, 2026; regular studio hours are Wednesday–Friday from 5pm–7pm, with office hours Monday–Friday from 10am–4pm.
Artists Ink is a multidisciplinary arts organization born in 2013 out of the Alisal in Salinas, CA. Its mission is to build art career and education pathways that empower residents to ignite the stories of the community. The organization’s youth programs include the Cepanoa Arts Program with hands-on workshops and open studio sessions, Teatro Xochitl Ollin focused on youth-driven storytelling in theater, film, and visual performance, Yoli Arts Academy in schools and after-school spaces, and Yoli Music, which blends modern and traditional music styles and encourages multimedia use. Artists Ink produces teatro productions once or twice a year and organizes community events such as art markets, live showcases, artist gatherings, and fundraisers. Community involvement includes creating public art murals that reflect local stories and working with schools, neighborhoods, and local artists, as well as offerings like tabling at local farmers markets, readings at the Western Stage and Alisal High School, and performances of La Posada Magica. School partnerships and collaborative projects include the YOLI Arts & Music program and work with UC Berkeley, CSU Monterey Bay, and the National Steinbeck Center. Guiding values for the organization are Amor, Cariño, Energía, Cultura, Identity, and Awareness.
