Little Mountain Preschool

Little Mountain Preschool is a nurturing, play-based preschool where children learn through play in a multi-age environment. The program offers a dynamic, nature-rich curriculum with a nature-based, play-driven approach and a close-knit community of lifelong learners. Little Mountain Preschool operates on the grounds of Sleepy Hollow Presbyterian Church but is not affiliated with the church.

• Ages: 2 years 9 months–5 years old

The mission of Little Mountain Preschool is to nurture lifelong learners by fostering exploration, discovery, and play, which support the growth of the whole child socially, emotionally, cognitively, and physically. Through a nurturing, nature-inspired environment, the program states that it empowers children to approach their world with curiosity, wonder, and confidence, building the foundation for a lifetime of learning and meaningful connections. The preschool maintains small 5:1 class sizes. Little Mountain Preschool has a notice of nondiscriminatory policy as to students and admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school, and it does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, and other school-administered programs.

One parent describes Little Mountain Preschool as “truly a special place” and notes that their son has attended for two years, during which they observed thoughtfulness, care, compassion, and interest from the teachers, as well as great strides both academically and socially. Another family shares that, as first-time parents, the school “immediately felt like home” and that the teachers are “incredibly warm and nurturing, with gentle souls” who made their daughter feel safe and comfortable from the first day.
