For over 28 years, San Domenico Summer Camps have been a destination for children of all ages, and the program is part of San Domenico School, an independent K–12 day and boarding preparatory school with a 515-acre campus and a 9:1 student to faculty ratio. San Domenico is California’s first independent school and Marin County’s only K–12 school, with 20+ countries represented among 140 boarding students. The Cross Country Running Camp is hosted by Olympic Medalist Shannon Rowbury and is set in the Marin hills with top-tier training facilities, and Explorers Garden & Nature Camp invites children to spend their summer in hands-on outdoor learning, creative play, and exploration, with half-day options available. The program offers a convenient free bus service supporting Marin families, a hot lunch program, early and after care, Friday Fun Fiesta care on Fridays for children attending a Monday–Thursday camp, and registration through Homeroom.com; the Counselor-in-Training (CIT) Program is an unpaid volunteer position that can serve to qualify for becoming a paid camp staff member.

San Domenico’s mission is to provide exceptional education rooted in inquiry, reflection, and purpose, and the 2025–26 school year marks 175 years of values-driven education at San Domenico School, which has a tradition of innovation and academic excellence since 1850. Lower School students earn top honors in Math Olympiads, Audrey M. ’26 earned a 2024 Global Citizens Initiative Fellowship, and a student participates in the highly competitive Normandy Institute program. Community involvement includes a free bus service supporting Marin families, a K–5 service project supporting global access to clean water in Kenya, third graders making and delivering blankets for senior citizens, a Lower School Book Sale that supports education in Afghanistan, a Thanksgiving Food Drive for Marin County neighbors in need, and the SD community gathering in the Garden of Hope at the 2023 Garden Fair.
