Alli Jo’s Swim School

Alli Jo’s Swim School offers children’s swim lessons, adult swim lessons, swim lessons, swim team prep, swim team training, and water safety instruction. The program serves first-time swimmers, toddlers, adults, and competitive swimmers wanting to polish up their skills, with an emphasis on water safety using a mixture of fun, patient instruction. It offers training for “all things water” throughout San Diego County.

• Ages: 0–18 years old
• Schedule: Classes are taught in two week sessions, Monday–Thursday (8 lessons total).

Alli Jo’s Swim School has been a locally owned business since 2012, and 2025 marks its 13th year serving San Diego County. The summer of 2025 marks Alli Jo’s 26th year of teaching individuals how to swim, and her family has a background in swim instruction with a family swim school started over 50 years ago in central California. The school serves San Diego County and offers swim lessons and swim team training in multiple locations throughout the county. Founder and instructor Alli Jo (Allison Houck) is a certified Water Safety Instructor through the American Red Cross. Alli Jo’s stated passion is guiding swim students to the moment in which they move from fear to enjoyment, enabling them to experience a lifetime of fun and safety in the water. One local parent shared, “My daughter’s swimming went from frantic to graceful in eight days,” and Alli Jo has said she loves the moment when an individual switches from fear to enjoyment in the water and being able to equip people with both safety and enjoyment of the water.
