About
Amanda’s Adaptive Martial Arts offers martial arts education that includes karate, jiu-jitsu, and muay thai. The program uses visual supports so children know where to stand and provides positive reinforcement during instruction. Classes are kept at a small ratio of 6:1, and instruction is repetitive, with visual schedules provided when needed.
• Ages: 3–18 years old
• Schedule: Kids and Cubs class options on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays at various times
Founded in 2021, Amanda’s Adaptive Martial Arts focuses on martial arts education for children and adults with various needs in a safe environment, so that all may benefit from sports and martial arts in their lives. The program is a Certified Autism Center™ Martial Arts Center. The martial arts program is derived from karate, jiu-jitsu, and muay thai and is specially formulated so that children with disabilities or neurodivergence can be successful in their learning. All gyms used by the program are ADA compliant, classes are sensory friendly, and Amanda’s Adaptive Martial Arts has implemented visual schedules, noise-canceling headphones, attire flexibility, and a sensory-friendly setting. Parents, therapists, or caregivers are welcome to push-in during classes.
