Since 1992, America's Youth Outreach Programs (AYOP) has been dedicated to providing low-cost after school athletic enrichment programs and has been serving the San Diego community since 1992. The program offers after school athletic enrichment programs through relationships with City and County Parks and Recreation Departments, Boys & Girls Clubs, The Salvation Army, churches, and school districts for children that are 5–15 years of age and their families. The program provides passionate, well educated, and background screened teachers that are described as positive role models for children.

AYOP describes its mission as providing affordable athletic enrichment programs that are locally accessible and available in every community and that promote life skills such as honor, respect, discipline, self-confidence, self-esteem, physical fitness, concentration, coordination, commitment, and a competitive spirit, with the stated goal of increasing and improving social interaction and academic performance in youth, while providing a fun and safe environment for children. The program states that it is one of the most affordable Tae Kwon Do and martial arts programs for local communities, their children, and families, and that it is trusted by over 6,000 students and parents. It is described as designed to build honor, discipline, respect, self-confidence, concentration, coordination, and physical fitness, and as a program that teaches children many life skills, as well as how to deal with bullying and stranger danger.

The program notes that its classes are more than just instructor-led martial arts classes and are described as a complete goal-oriented program for individual achievement. AYOP uses positive reinforcement such as trophies, achievement awards, and competition tournaments to encourage students' learning, and states that its after school athletic enrichment programs are goal oriented to help children get on the right path towards achieving their goals in life. Registration is only available until week 4 of classes, and weekly or monthly payment options are offered. The program also shares quotations from Bruce Lee and Alexandra K. Trenfor about martial arts and teaching.
