About
YMCA of San Diego County Day Camps offer day camp experiences that include outdoor play. Camps use a mandatory sign-in process that includes a temperature check and intake screening at drop-off, and a government-issued photo ID is required at pick-up. Pens used for sign-in are labeled clean or used and are sanitized after each use.
• Ages: 5–15 years old
• Schedule: Camps run for 8 hours per day and have extended camp options for those who need it.
• Price: $1 per minute late pick-up fee for children not picked up at the end of the camp day. Up to 10% off day camp and up to 10% off overnight camp for Community Membership. Up to 15% off day and overnight camps for Community Plus Membership. An up-front, nonrefundable deposit of up to $60 per camp week, based on membership type, is required at the time of registration (no deposit for day camps less than three days, which must be paid in full at registration).
Day camps are ACA Accredited. Dedicated, trained and caring staff run the camps. Inclusion support is provided. Financial assistance is available through the Y’s ACCESS scholarship program or through third party payment support, and vouchers can be applied to new day camp registrations during checkout, applied to another Y program, converted into a refund, or donated to support the YMCA’s efforts in supporting the community. Friend requests are allowed with specific conditions: requests must be received by the Wednesday before camp starts, provided by families of both campers, both campers must be registered for the same camp, and campers are limited to one friend request per camp each week.
Health and safety protocols include working closely with local health officials, the American Camp Association and the CDC to ensure recommended safety measures are met. Campers with a temperature exceeding 100°F are not allowed to attend that day. Authorized parents or guardians must accompany their camper through the mandatory sign-in process.
Registration is based on a first-come, first-served basis. Full payment is due by end-of-day Monday, three weeks before camp, and non-payment results in removal from the roster. An active membership is required at the time of the program start date to receive member pricing discounts.
