Global Leadership Adventures

Global Leadership Adventures offers travel internships, fieldwork, service learning, professional development, independent study, community service, cultural immersion activities, and adventure excursions. Participants may take part in activities such as boat tours, culinary and cooking experiences, dance classes, hiking, visiting iconic landmarks or national parks, kayaking, visiting museums, snorkeling, swimming in pools, lakes, or the ocean, ziplining, biking, stand up paddleboarding, farm tours, martial arts, and traditional ceremonies. Families can also request a free program catalog, schedule a call with admissions, book a free program consultation, call or text the organization, apply for financial aid, request a fundraising kit, request a sample itinerary, RSVP for an event or webinar, shop the GLA store, and enroll in programs.

Global Leadership Adventures states that its mission is to inspire the next generation to realize their potential to transform the world and their unique role in it. Programs are offered in Africa, Asia, Europe and the Americas, with Spring Break and Summer program dates. Travel internships pair meaningful travel with real-world career path discovery, and high school travel programs include community service, cultural immersion activities, and adventure excursions while students discover their leadership style. Middle school travel programs are described as being for younger aspiring student travelers in a safe environment under the guidance of experienced mentors.

Global Leadership Adventures notes that it embraces nine core values inspired by its roots with the African Leadership Academy and welcomes teens and young leaders from every background, including diverse identities and beliefs. Students agree to a Code of Conduct that emphasizes civility, respect and personal accountability, and students and staff co-create Community Agreements that set shared expectations for kindness, responsibility and communication. Programs include available service hours for certain internships and travel programs, and some programs offer optional college credit. Participants on Global Leadership Adventures programs serve the community through volunteer efforts and build relationships through listening and collaboration, learning from local partners, honoring cultural practices, recognizing community leadership, and caring for local environments and ecosystems.

The organization lists Korissa Zanrosso as Director of Admissions and Jessica Rose Miller as Executive Director. The Admissions Team and Travel Coordination Team are available by phone, text, email, and scheduled calls during office hours, which are Monday through Friday from 7:00am to 5:00pm PT (10:00am to 8:00pm ET), and closed on Saturday and Sunday.
