Mira Mesa Soccer (AYSO Region 285) offers youth soccer activities that include Playground for 3-year-olds, Schoolyard for 4-year-olds, and Core for players 5 years and older. The program also includes All-stars for U10 and above, Soccer Camps, Freeplay Fridays, Picture Day, Silent Saturday, a Fall Picnic, team Banners, the TOP GUN TOURNAMENT, Skills Clinics, and a PLAYSOCCER event. Families can also participate in seasonal Spring, Fall, and Summer programs.

Region 285 adheres to AYSO’s six core philosophies: Everyone Plays, Balanced Teams, Open Registration, Positive Coaching, Good Sportsmanship, and Player Development. The program states that being vocally critical of the referee is not allowed at AYSO games for coaches, spectators, or players, and that referees are volunteers who are doing their best to provide a fun and fair experience for children. The program states that concerns about referees can be discussed with the Referee Administrator after the game in a private setting. Players and volunteers come from Mira Mesa, Miramar, Rancho Peñasquitos, Sabre Springs, Scripps Ranch, Sorrento Mesa, Carmel Mountain Ranch, and other neighboring communities.
