My Good Brain

My Good Brain offers Scrap Lab, a drop-in upcycling and recycling art class that uses recycled and reclaimed materials, Mini World Builders: Kids Art Workshop, where kids build a miniature world to take home, and Little Sound Minds, an inclusive, sensory-friendly music and movement class. It also offers Sunday Art Club as an online YouTube art activity resource.

About the provider

My Good Brain is a San Diego-based arts nonprofit focused on promoting mental wellness among school-aged youth. Dr. Danessa Mayo is the founder and CEO, and she is a California licensed clinical psychologist and visual artist. The workshop page also lists Dr. Octaviana Hemmy as a facilitator. The site includes resources for San Diego veterans and parents of young children, immigration and family support resources, and free interactive art activities for kids and families.

Some offerings are free. The Veteran Families workshop is 100% free and on-demand online. No art experience is needed for that workshop. The site states the workshop is for Veteran parents of elementary-age children and for military-connected families. Scrap Lab is described as a drop-in class.
