About
National Comedy Theatre Improv Classes focus on improv classes connected to San Diego’s legendary improv comedy show. Improv at this program is performed without a script and is built off suggestions from the audience, so every performance is completely unique and will not happen again in the exact same way.
• Schedule: Mainstage shows run approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes with an intermission; most shows run about 90–100 minutes, and Friday/Saturday shows may run a bit longer.

The flagship Mainstage show features an award-winning professional cast that has been performing in San Diego for over 24 years and has been voted San Diego’s Best Comedy Show. The show has been running continuously since 1999, with over 7000 performances to date, and is described as San Diego’s longest running show. The Mainstage show is a competition between two different teams of three performers who create the entire show based completely on audience suggestions, and the NCT improv comedy show is described as appropriate for all audiences with no drink or age minimums. Sunday Company presents a slightly alternative version of the show on Sundays at 7:30 pm, doing a combination of short and long form scenes over 90 minutes, and House Teams are comprised of the newest performers, with three different teams appearing every week on the first two Thursdays of each month at 7:30 pm, each doing their own set of improvised sketches.
NCT has performed for private groups and corporations of all sizes and has toured with Armed Forces Entertainment, performing in places such as Iraq, Greece, Turkey, Spain, Italy, Egypt, Belgium and many more. Audience members have described the performers as hilarious, engaging, clever, witty, and professional, and have noted that the shows range from kid-friendly to more explicit late-night options.
