Opera4Kids Music Education Programs offers live performances, online music programs, teaching portals, and both virtual and in-person school visits. Children experience family-friendly opera performances such as “The Enchanted Tail” and “The Bear and The Pear Tree,” along with musical stories set to classical music. The program also includes audio recordings and a YouTube TV show called “Musical Make-Believe,” where kids learn about each musical instrument in an orchestra, listen to professional musicians sample their instruments, and watch young students playing as examples.
• Schedule: Performances in 2026 include “The Enchanted Tail” on June 18 from 10:30am to 11:15am, “The Enchanted Tail” on June 20 from 4:30pm to 7pm, “The Enchanted Tail” on October 11 from 2pm to 3pm, and “The Bear and The Pear Tree” on November 1 from 2pm to 3pm.
Opera4Kids states that its mission is to ignite the potential of young minds and nurture academic success, social skills, and concentration through classical music. Programs are performed by professional opera singers and orchestras. Opera4Kids teams with symphonies, opera companies, children’s choirs, and youth symphonies, and works with partners such as Resounding Joy, Vista Public Library, and The Spreckels Organ Society, which presents free performances at The Spreckels Organ Pavilion.
