San Diego Craft Collective launched in 2018 and operates as an educational 501c3 nonprofit. Its mission states that it plays a role as an inclusive resource for the community by teaching craft and woodworking classes as a vehicle for self-expression and personal growth, and it offers activities, workshops, artist space, scholarships, and fellowships centered around craft and creativity for individuals of all ages and backgrounds in a family-friendly, eco-conscious environment. The organization describes itself as a traditional and modern craft center with woodworking, clay, and glass areas that have well-maintained equipment, and many classes are hosted outdoors in a designated portion of a nearby parking lot. It also offers a bench rental program in its 2400 sq ft artist rental space, open studio time for woodworking projects after completing Intro to the Woodshop, and craft workshops for adults in clay, textiles, fused glass, macrame, and natural dyes.

Through its Craft2Gether program, San Diego Craft Collective donates craft kits and quality arts and craft education to San Diego youth and partners with other organizations to support their goals through craft education. The organization also hosts private craft events for team building, bachelorette parties, and birthday parties. Participants in workshops are asked to arrive 10–15 minutes early so that sessions can start on time, and a loading dock with a private entrance is available for loading and unloading projects, wood, tools, and other large items.

Parent and community feedback includes comments such as “What an amazing crafting hour we had! The little wooden peg dolls we made are high quality crafts that my little girl will treasure for a long time. I can’t wait to create more! It was really enjoyable and even relaxing!” from Brandy Smith, and “We did the process art activity and it was really awesome! I also learned some tips for making art with my kiddos at home. My daughter absolutely loved it and we are waiting for the next offering to pop up!” from Erica Marrone. Another parent, Miss Amy, described “A wonderful day filled with magic! A lovely event for children. Good healthy snacks and wonderful crafts for children to get involved with parents. I highly recommend doing the events!” and Vickie Higuera described the program as offering “Creative projects, well-organized and expertly taught!”
