San Diego Craft Collective launched in 2018 as an educational 501c3 nonprofit. Its mission states that it plays a role as an inclusive resource by teaching craft and woodworking classes as a vehicle for self-expression and personal growth, and that it offers activities, workshops, artist space, scholarships, and fellowships centered around craft and creativity for individuals of all ages and backgrounds in a family-friendly, eco-conscious environment. The organization notes that it is inspired by Waldorf and Montessori education models and the Sloyd Method, offers small class sizes, and hosts many classes outdoors in a portion of Parking Lot Q next to the studio entrance.

San Diego Craft Collective describes itself as a 501c3 nonprofit dedicated to being an inclusive community resource where individuals of all ages can learn craft and woodworking. Through its Craft2Gether program, it designs and makes Craft Kits in its studio, donates these kits, and provides arts and craft education to San Diego youth in partnership with other organizations. Additional features include its FIBER FEST event, a Bench Rental Program for craftspeople, artist rental space in a 2400 square foot facility, and scholarships, internships, and fellowship programs, as well as “Gift of Experience” gift cards.

Parent and participant feedback includes comments such as “What an amazing crafting hour we had! The little wooden peg dolls we made are high quality crafts that my little girl will treasure for a long time. I can’t wait to create more! It was really enjoyable and even relaxing!” from Brandy Smith. Another parent, Erica Marrone, shared that “We did the process art activity and it was really awesome! I also learned some tips for making art with my kiddos at home. My daughter absolutely loved it and we are waiting for the next offering to pop up!” Miss Amy described “A wonderful day filled with magic! A lovely event for children. Good healthy snacks and wonderful crafts for children to get involved with parents. I highly recommend doing the events!” and Vickie Higuera stated, “Creative projects, well-organized and expertly taught!”
