Science Guys of San Diego offers hands-on science experiments through science parties, summer camps, science shows, after school clubs, science workshops, science stations, in-school field trips, assemblies, festivals, and special event shows. Spectacular Science Parties include one hour of hands-on science experiments presented by one of their scientists. Science shows are described by the program as fun, interactive, and spectacular and are for kids of all ages, and after school clubs are interactive, hands-on, inquiry based, and for kids ages 5–12. Science workshops correspond with science state standards and are for all elementary school ages, and Spectacular Science Stations are available for school festivals, community events, dances, and more. The program also offers fiestas y espectáculos en español (parties and shows in Spanish) and describes its approach as “EDUTAINMENT,” a mix of fun and education.

Kathryn Beamon (Professor Katalyst) and Chuck Beamon (Professor Chicken) own Science Guys of San Diego, and Hannah (Professor Banana) is the Program Manager. Kathryn earned a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education and worked in public education in Tennessee for 13 years. Chuck earned a Bachelor of Business Management from the University of Iowa and worked in hotel and retail management in Tennessee for 14 years. Annika recently earned her Master’s degree in Geology from the University of Nevada, Reno. Ashley has a Bachelor’s of Science in Zoology from Humboldt State University and has spent several years working at a wildlife rehabilitation center and educating the community on local wildlife. Cam graduated from SDSU with a degree in Business Marketing. Crystal graduated in Communications and Linguistics and is currently studying Nuclear Medicine. Dr. Sunshine received her Bachelor of Science in Communication from Old Dominion University. Diorah graduated from San Diego State University with a BA in Liberal Studies and a Bilingual Multiple Subject Teaching Credential. Hannah earned a Bachelor of Science in Marine Science from Cal Poly SLO and recently graduated with her MFA from Eastern Oregon University. Krystal has 8 years of experience as a teaching artist, and Jakilynn is currently studying Family and Child Education. Kathryn began working for the Science Guys of Nashville in 2016, and in 2022 Kathryn and Chuck moved to California and started the Science Guys of San Diego. Science Guys of San Diego is locally owned and operated in San Diego, CA, and the organization also offers programming in Tennessee, Maryland, Texas, and Georgia.
