Since 2016, Alvarez Fine Art Studio has been providing drawing and painting lessons for children, teens, and adults in the Northeast San Fernando Valley communities. Students select from a variety of projects to learn the basics in drawing and painting, and each student is individually coached based on their abilities and experience. E-gift certificates are available for the program, and calligraphy classes with Miss Tara welcome ages 8 through adult.
Cynthia Alvarez has been teaching art to children, teens, and adults at various studios throughout Los Angeles since 2005, and in 2016 she opened her own art school. That same year, she became a Director for La Galeria Gitana art gallery. Her education includes a B.A. in History of Art and Social Anthropology from the University of Michigan–Ann Arbor and college counseling coursework from the University of California–Los Angeles Extension.
The studio’s mission is to provide an outlet for students to explore, learn, and create artwork they can be proud of for years. Alvarez Fine Art Studio is a Regional Center Vendor. Cynthia Alvarez is involved in the community through curating exhibits and organizing educational programs at La Galeria Gitana, volunteering and donating to events such as the annual Dia de los Muertos art exhibit in Pacoima, and serving as a volunteer Director for the Lambda Theta Alpha Foundation, Inc. She is also a member of the City of San Fernando Chamber of Commerce and the Team Referral Network–Northeast Valley Chapter.
