Lenny is the creative director and studio director of Danzone, and she started dancing at age 5 in El Salvador. She began coaching as her high school cheer coach, continued coaching for 5 years, and trained with the National Cheerleader’s Association and as a cheerleader at California State University, Los Angeles (CSULA). While earning a Communications degree with a minor in Dance at CSULA, she had opportunities to tour and perform on stage and in film, and she has a professional dance career of over 17 years. Her work includes performances with celebrities such as Pilar Montenegro, La Chilindrina, Akwid, and Cristal Sierra, and appearances on Sabado Gigante, Despierta America, Mad TV, VH1, Univision, and Telemundo.

Lenny opened the doors to Danzone in October 2007, and it is stated that more than six years have passed since the studio opened relative to that statement. The program’s stated goal is to help people, young and old, achieve their truest potential and happiness through dance and fitness, and Danzone is committed to providing a safe and empowering learning experience to all students. The studio’s mission includes helping students feel confident and grow to be the best dancers they can be, and classes are described as more than just dance instruction, with a focus on wellness, mental health, self-care, and offering a safe environment to work through emotional trauma. Danzone emphasizes community and family, describing the experience as “start as strangers…end up family,” and notes that organizations choosing Danzone value wellness, mental health, and self-development.

Testimonials from parents and students describe Danzone as a judge-free, safe zone and praise Lenny as an instructor. One parent notes the dedication the instructor gives the children, that everyone is very friendly, and that her daughter learned a lot and loved it. Another testimonial highlights Lenny’s role in choreographing and coordinating a quinceañera, including serving as MC for the event. A student who took the Dance in Heels class mentions that the studio is a great size, that parking was easy to find, and that the class included clear guidance through the steps and a group performance of a short routine.
