About

Asian Arts School offers drawing and painting classes that include work in perspective and anatomy, along with both online and in-person art classes. The program also runs summer art camps with dancing, summer outdoor drawing and painting camps, and a human life drawing contest.

Asian Arts School’s fine arts program offers weekly classes for ages 5–18 on weekends and weekday afternoons and evenings, where students build skills in drawing, painting, perspective, anatomy, and more, progressing from guided instruction to independent projects. The 2026–2027 school year runs from September 3, 2026, through May 16, 2027, and includes 32 classes, one free exhibition, and free art contests, with holiday closures for Thanksgiving, winter holidays, New Year, and spring break. The 2025–2026 school year runs from September 4, 2025, to May 17, 2026, and also includes 32 classes.

Summer Weekday and Weekend 2025 in-person and online art classes run from June 6 to August 11, 2025, with 32 classes total, and Summer Camps 2025 in-person run during the same dates with a total of 10 classes. Summer Weekday and Weekend 2026 in-person and online art classes run from June 4 to July 5 and July 16 to August 16, 2026, for a total of 10 weeks. Summer Art Camps with Dancing 2026 run in person from July 20 to August 14, 2026, for children 5 to 10 years old over a total of 4 weeks, and Summer Outdoor Drawing/Painting Camps 2026 run in person from June 8 to June 19, 2026, for teens and advanced preteens over a total of 2 weeks. Free schedule changes and makeup classes are allowed within the same session only, and instruction is provided in English, with online registration available for both online and in-person classes and summer camps.

Asian Arts School has been active from 2008 to 2027, and its history includes the Asian Arts School Human Life Drawing Contest 2017 and the STARS IN CLASSES – ASIAN ARTS SCHOOL ADVANCED PROGRAM 2016-1 and 2016-2. The mission statement notes that the program supports not only future artists but also future leaders in all fields by encouraging creative confidence.

The leadership team includes Lin Wei as Art Director, Instructor, and Head Teacher; Gregory P. Collins as Communications Coordinator; Sharon Duan as On-Call Teacher; Nancy Suen as Dancing Teacher; Athena Sue as Exhibition Manager; and David Collins as Tech Support and Drawing Teacher. Lin Wei’s background includes roles as Visual Arts Teacher, Oil Painter, and Computer Graphics Designer, and teaching positions at Qufu Teachers University, Shandong Art Institute, Huada Chinese Academy, Starr King Elementary School’s after-school program, and San Francisco State University’s evening program. Lin Wei’s education includes study in the Visual Arts Department at Qufu Teachers University from 1977 to 1981, the Oil Painting Department at Beijing Capital Teachers University from 1984 to 1985, and the Oil Painting Department at the Central Academy of Fine Arts from 1985 to 1987.
