Before and After School Programs are part of the YMCA of Greater San Francisco’s offerings for students when they are not in school. The programs are described as safe spaces for students to learn and grow when not in school. Before and After School Programs are coordinated with local school districts and range in capacity and need based on the school site.
• Price: Monthly Tuition Rate with Discounts; families can receive a 20% sibling discount; active YMCA Facility Members enjoy exclusive discounts on monthly fees and youth programs, including summer camp and youth sports.
For more than 170 years, the YMCA of Greater San Francisco has stood with individuals and families to help them thrive, and it was established during the Gold Rush in 1853. Its mission is to empower each person’s journey and strengthen the foundations of community. The YMCA of Greater San Francisco describes itself as a trusted youth-centered organization with decades of experience. Before and After School Programs foster each child’s cognitive, social-emotional, and physical development through opportunities and experiences that focus on achievement, relationship-building, and belonging. The YMCA of Greater San Francisco works with local agencies, such as the San Francisco Children’s Council, and gladly accepts alternative payment vouchers. It welcomes everyone to its programs and, as an equal-opportunity provider, strives to make programs accessible to all families. Financial assistance is offered on a first-come, first-served basis, and families that qualify for their school’s Free/Reduced Lunch may qualify for discounted rates. A 20% sibling discount is available for monthly tuition, Community Member accounts are free of charge and required for online registration, and active YMCA Facility Members receive up to 20% off youth and family programs. A staff member has said that the Y is a welcoming place for the community and that they enjoy working there and hearing how the Y has played a role in the lives of people they meet at work and in the community.
