Tinkering School

Tinkering School offers in-person after school tinkering, summer day camp, summer overnight camp, weekend workshops, custom online camps for schools and groups of 6 or more participants, and trainings. In the program, tinkerers collaborate on engineering challenges, learn from failures, and build with woodworking tools. They also work with wood, metal, cardboard, and sometimes paint, and are taught to safely use drills, the chop saw, band, jig and circular saws, drill press, and sanders.

About the provider

Tinkering School was founded in 2005 by Gever Tulley. The program states that kids are more capable than they know and says it gives them real tools to solve real problems. It also says it aims for tinkerers to make mistakes and learn from them, collaborate and make friends, and try harder than usual.

Scholarships are available on a pay-what-you-can basis while funds last.
