Circus Center, 755 Frederick St, San Francisco, CA 94117
About
The Youth Circus Program includes activities such as Aerial, Acrobatics, Flying Trapeze, Flexibility & Contortion, Juggling & Balance, and Clown. The youth program is composed of 5 levels, and youth class enrollment is for a full session. Summer session youth classes are available for drop-in enrollment.
• Schedule: Summer term runs from June 1 to August 30 as a 13-week session, including Summer 2026 from June 1 to August 30 (13 weeks).
• Price: Trial classes are priced at the cost of 1 week of the class, which depends on the duration and the student-to-instructor ratio. Circus Center may charge a $10 late fee for each 5 minutes that a student remains onsite without a guardian after a 5-minute grace period. Nearby paid parking options include the ABC Parking Lot at Frederick and Stanyan with the first hour at $3.00 and a maximum daily fee of $20, 500 Parnassus at $3.75 an hour with a maximum of $30 for up to 24 hours, and 350 Parnassus at $4 an hour with a maximum daily fee of $22.
Students who wish to enroll in beginning classes can do so online. Students with previous training can contact the front desk to schedule a tryout or do a trial class. Families can register a child by paying 50% at registration and 50% halfway through the session, with this payment plan not compatible with tuition assistance or additional discounts and not available for summer session classes. There are no make-up credits and no refunds, but if Circus Center cancels a class date, the student receives a pro-rated refund. For medical withdrawal, Circus Center credits 50% of the remaining pro-rated tuition to the student’s Circus Center account for future use with a medical doctor’s note. Students arriving late to class may be restricted from some activities for safety reasons.
Circus Center is a non-profit circus training and performing arts center that offers classes for all levels, parties, team-building events, and camps. The organization currently provides need-based financial aid for youth circus classes and is a registered non-profit organization. Circus Center acknowledges that it occupies Yelamu, the ancestral and unceded territories of the Ramaytush Ohlone people, and that the greater Bay Area is the ancestral territory of the Miwok, Yokuts, and Patwin, as well as other Ohlone peoples. It states that it stands in solidarity with local Indigenous communities and practices Land Acknowledgement to promote greater public consciousness of Native sovereignty and cultural rights and to amplify Indigenous voices. Circus Center is required to comply with all San Francisco Health Orders and may change masking requirements depending on the status of COVID transmission, and refunds are not issued to students who are unhappy about the masking policy. The building is not completely wheelchair accessible, as it is an historic building, and public transit is described as the best way to get there, with three pay parking lots nearby and free 3-hour parking spots in Golden Gate Park about a 5-minute walk away.
The leadership team includes Annie Fraser Ashe, Austin Critchlow, Claire Mann, Dominik Wyss, Elena Panova, Herdlyn Evans, Landyn Endo, Lex Baesen, Serchmaa Byamba, Thuan Lieu, and YingYing Zhao.
