The Elementary After-School Program includes activities in literacy, math, and STEM, along with academic support and tutoring. The program also offers age appropriate enrichment and recreational curriculum activities, as well as restorative circles. Program Leaders work under the supervision of a Site Coordinator as part of a team to build a positive and supportive environment for transitional kindergarten through 5th grade school-aged children, with a focus on supporting youth in their academic, social, and emotional development, and creating and planning enrichment curriculum activities and lesson plans that incorporate social emotional learning competency skills.

• Schedule: Must be able to work Monday to Friday, in-person; position ends June 3, 2026
• Price: $23.50 – $27.00 per hour (25 Hours/Week)
Staff in the program are expected to have an AA degree preferred, but must have completed a minimum of 48 college units or passed an Instructional Aide Exam, and to have knowledge of the youth development framework and practices and at least one year of experience planning and leading academic, enrichment, recreational, and social emotional learning curriculum activities for school-aged children. Experience in classroom management, conflict mediation, restorative practices, and working with diverse youth and families is described as a plus, along with the ability to develop, implement, and organize programs and special events, and to model professionalism, personal responsibility, a strong work ethic, and positive character. Bilingual or bicultural ability in Arabic, Cantonese/Mandarin, Spanish, or Vietnamese is preferred, and staff must be able to lift or move at least 25 pounds. The program is part of CYC, which has served youth in the city for more than 56 years and serves more than 8,000 youth each year, including low-income, high-need, and at-risk Asian American and Pacific Islander, Latinx, and African American youth.
