About the provider
Leela Improv Theatre was founded in early February 2003, and the company celebrates 23 years of Leela Improv in 2026. Its mission is to continue the San Francisco improv legacy begun by Del Close and The Committee, while creating, supporting, and producing new original works and pursuing truthful, artistic play. Revenue generated by Leela events is used to support Bay Area artists and is reinvested into the San Francisco performing arts community.
Before registering for any course, class, or event, participants are asked to review Leela Improv Theatre’s Policies. The site says students all begin with Improv 1, or attend a Drop-In class first.
