About
SFCM Pre-College and Summer Programs take place within the San Francisco Conservatory of Music’s facilities, which include performance, recording, teaching, and practice spaces. The program is connected to SFCM, which is advancing a model of music education that focuses on a career in music and lifelong learning.
SFCM is celebrating its 100th anniversary. The program leadership team includes Keelin Davis, Associate Dean & Executive Director, Pre-College and Continuing Education; Laura Reynolds, Associate Director, Pre-College & Summer Programs; Jenny Ma, Pre-College Coordinator; Carina Wu, Pre-College Associate; David H. Stull, President; and Jonas Wright, Provost & Provost. The mission of the San Francisco Conservatory of Music states that it is advancing a new model of music education that sets students up for a rewarding career in music and a path of lifelong learning. SFCM hosts Classical California Radio station KDFC, and numerous faculty and alumni are involved with the opera through programs like the Merola Opera Program and Adler Fellowship, with many faculty also part of the SF Ballet orchestra and overlapping with SFJAZZ Collective members in side-by-side performance settings. SFCM is the only music school that leads an alliance combining world-class education with a legendary label, two prominent artist management companies, and their premier clients, and it reports that 90% of concerts at the Bowes Center are free and open to the public.
